The mission of Goodwill Industries of Santa
Cruz, Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties, is to provide
education, employment and job seeker services to people
with barriers to employment. We support these services through
the collection and sale of clothing and household items in
such a manner as to encourage reuse/recycling of these material
resources thereby creating employment that benefits and protects
the environment.
Our Goodwill was established
in 1928 in the
City of Santa Cruz as part of the San Francisco Goodwill
organization.
In 1953 we became an independent Goodwill organization
with our own local Board of Directors. Today the organization
operates 15 stores, 25 Attended Donation Centers,
five donation processing centers and five job training
facilities. We employ more than 350 people including employment
training professionals, sales personnel, attended donation
center
attendants,
warehouse and distribution workers and administrators.
We are an equal opportunity employer and
an advocate for the
Americans with Disabilities Act. Our organization is directed
by a volunteer board of directors comprised of 20 business
and civic leaders. For more information please read our Annual
Report.
