BUYERS and VENDORS:
ANIMALS: With the exception of trained service
dogs, no dogs or puppies are permitted on our grounds. Santa Cruz
County Ordinance prohibits the offer for sale, adoption, “give-away”,
or trade any cats, kittens, dogs or puppies at our Flea Market.
As far as “guest” animals… we at Santa Cruz Flea
Market all love our pets. They are not appropriate visitors to the
Swap Meet, for many reasons. We do not condone in any way leaving
a pet in your vehicle while you shop, and will contact authorities
if we see an animal that appears to be suffering from heat in an
unattended vehicle. No dogs left unattended in the back of trucks,
even if leashed. Dogs are unacceptable companions in the shopping
areas of the Market, and shoppers seen with dogs will be asked to
leave immediately, without refund. Please love your best friend
enough to leave them at home when visiting the swap meet!
ALCOHOL: No alcoholic beverages may be brought
in or consumed by any individual (vendor or buyer). This is the
law! Violators will be evicted without refund.

All transactions are CASH only…sorry, no checks or credit
cards accepted. All vendors holding a reservation ticket must plan
their time to be on their space no later than 8:30 a.m. on SATURDAY
and 7:00 a.m. on SUNDAY. Reserved spaces not claimed by the deadline
may be subject to resale, without refund. BRING your RESERVATION
TICKET with you!
Reservations may be made no more than 7 days in advance.
For example, if you wish to reserve a space for a Sunday, you may
reserve no earlier than the Sunday prior to the date you wish to
sell.
QUARTERLIES: Saturday quarterly reservations are
available, at a cost of $30.00 per space, which does not include
the daily space use fee.
Sunday quarterly reservations are available. The cost varies by space
size and location. See management for further details. Again, the
quarterly fee does not include the weekly space rent, which is paid
at the gate each day of usage. The quarterly fee is to be paid in
full before the beginning of the calendar quarter. Vendors holding
quarterly reservations are subject to the same cut-off times (8:30
a.m. on Saturday, 7:00 a.m. on Sunday) as weekly pre-paid reservation
holders.
TRASH: Vendors are responsible for removing ALL
trash and unsold items from our grounds. This includes, but is not
limited to, the boxes that contained the vendors’ items, “free
stuff”, packing materials, as well as any items unsold at
the end of the day. Violators will be charged a fee for the first
offense, and repeated offenses will lead to suspension or complete
discontinuation of selling privileges.
VENDOR PARKING: Spaces are rented with room for
ONE vehicle and goods. Sellers may NOT park extra vehicles anywhere
on our property, nor may their helpers park anywhere on our property,
even with paid buyer’s admission ticket. We have limited parking
facilities, and each vendor that takes up parking space all day
prevents a minimum of 5 buyers from finding convenient parking to
shop. Vendors found having extra vehicles on our property will be
subject to immediate towing of that vehicle, at the vehicle owner’s
expense. *Exceptions may be granted to vendors with physical infirmities
or disabilities. Each exception is on a case-by-case basis at management’s
discretion, and MUST be cleared with the manager before doing so.
Otherwise, vehicles may be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.
VACATING: Our rules require that ALL VENDORS vacate
the grounds no later than 2 p.m. on Fridays, 4 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday. As noted under “Trash”, ALL trash and left-over
unsold goods, boxes, and packing materials must be taken away by
the vendor. Violators will be warned and cited, and habitual offenders
will be suspended and/or fined for trash removal.
WHAT YOU MAY SELL: We do have some restrictions
on what items may be sold. In general, any sale of food/beverage
intended for consumption on the grounds is prohibited. Sale of counterfeit,
bootleg or pirated recordings (CD, DVD, VHS) is strictly prohibited.
Sale of any other counterfeit or copyright-infringing items is prohibited.
Other items are at the Flea Market owner’s discretion. Drug
paraphernalia is not allowed. Pornography must NOT be displayed
openly, but must be boxed or screened from view. If you have a question
about whether your items are permitted, feel free to ask.
Anyone selling more than two times in any 12 month period is required
to have a Resale Permit issued by the State Board of Equalization,
and have it in their possession when selling at the Flea Market.
Those people selling produce or other allowed food products are
required to have a Health Permit issued by the Santa Cruz County
Health Department.
Vendors must keep their spaces and areas surrounding their spaces
clean and free of hazards at all times. Vendor assumes liability
for injury to third parties occurring as a result of their negligence
or hazards on their space.
Vendors must take down all tarps (with the exception of mesh-type
tarps) when requested to do so by Flea Market Employees. This request
will be made only as needed, for your own safety and the safety
of other patrons. Refusal to comply promptly may result in immediate
eviction without refund.
Management reserves the right to determine acceptable volume of
all music being played. Failure to cooperate may result in immediate
eviction without refund.
We reserve the right to refuse service or admission to anyone, for
any reason. Any violation of our rules or disturbance of the peace
on our grounds will result in immediate eviction without refund.
RAIN POLICY:
No rainchecks or refunds given.
If you have a weekly pre-paid reservation, you may move it forward
one week, for the same day (Saturday or Sunday) and space you have
reserved. You must contact the Flea Market -462-4442, during office
hours on the day you have reserved, prior to the cut off time noted
on your reservation ticket. (Saturday 8:30 a.m., Sunday 7 a.m.)
